Running an effective Multi-Family Group presents many challenges but also tremendous opportunities for foundational family systems work. Research has shown that a holistic approach to the treatment of eating disorders which includes appropriate family involvement increases the long term outcome of eating disorder patients. Participants will walk away with interventions and strategies to make this sometimes difficult group experience both effective and rewarding.

Bios:

Abby Krom, LMFT
Abby is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who works with individuals, couples and families. Abby graduated from Antioch University with a Master's in Clinical Psychology. Abby specializes in disordered eating, challenges with body image, grief/loss, codependency, anxiety, and difficulties in relationships. Abby likes to incorporate mindfulness and solution focused approaches with more traditional psychotherapy techniques. Abby has worked in residential settings for the past three years and has worked in mental heath for over 10 years.

Kerry Gough, LPCC, LMHC 
Kerry Gough has been working in the field of psychology since 2011. She has practiced in a variety of clinical settings as well as with a variety of clinical populations including Outpatient, In-Home Therapy, and Residential Treatment as well as with adults, children, and families struggling with a wide array of psychosocial and mental health concerns. Kerry began working within the field of Eating Disorders in 2016 and was instantly impacted by the complex but rewarding nature of the work. Kerry currently works as a Primary Therapist for an Eating Disorder Residential Treatment Center in Thousand Oaks, California as well as serves as the Assistant Director for the Institute for Psychospiritual Maturation in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
